Thousands of people are holding events across Canada to raise awareness about the AIDS epidemic and raise funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which supports community-based oroganizations that are turning the tide of HIV & AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.

Hands and Hearts for Africa and GranAurora Songs of Love, Hope and Inspiration

Please mark your calendars for SATURDAY JUNE 3 for a delightful afternoon of song in our sanctuary by the singing sensations THE FOUR MEN. The concert is from 2pm to 4:30pm with a Marketplace before the concert from 1:15pm and at intermission. The Four Men have been entertaining audiences since 2010 and will be on tour in the Maritimes immediately after our concert. This concert is a fundraiser for Stephen Lewis Foundation and the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada. Tickets are on sale today and throughout May at the church office at 905-884-1301 ext. 5 or at handsandhearts@live.ca or swill4114@gmail.com. Ticket cost is $20 each or $15 for seniors and students. We encourage you to bring others and enjoy the music. This event is hosted jointly by Hands and Hearts for Africa and GranAurora, two Grandmother to Grandmother groups in York Region

Join Hands Across the Sea for a Treasure Trove Sale

The Hands Across the Sea Grandmothers (HATS) will be hosting a “Treasure Trove Sale” on June 10 from 1:00-4:00 P.M. in the basement of the United Church at the corner of Grandin Drive & Morinville Dr. A variety of jewelry, art pieces, paintings, records, books, and other collectibles will be available. Cupcakes and a “Tambola” game will also be available to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday! All proceeds go to support African grandmothers through the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
