To prepare for this visit, the congregation at St. David’s United Church raised consciousness and concrete response though a study of the books "Race Against Time" and "Seeking the Sacred". About 35 people participated in a ten week program at the church and many others followed through the internet.
Various other face-to-face study group spin-offs from the program were encouraged by the local planning committee.
In addition to the study groups, the following websites were developed to raise further awareness about the HIV/AIDS pandemic and the work of Stephen Lewis.
