Welcome to Virtual IGG 2023

Welcome to Winnipeg!

We are so excited that you have joined us for this International Grandmothers Gathering. The Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign has played a significant role in the 20-year history of the Stephen Lewis Foundation and the passionate work of the campaign members has made such a difference in the lives of so many grandmothers, their families, and communities across the African continent.

We are also thrilled to welcome to Winnipeg, visitors from South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda and to be able to connect virtually with grandmothers across 11 countries over the next three days. I hope that this gathering provides you with an opportunity to learn from one another, to be inspired anew by the work of the African grandmothers who are activists and leaders in their communities, and to return to your campaign groups with fresh ideas and new connections.

I want to thank you for all you do for the SLF, for your continued commitment to the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, and most importantly, for your solidarity with African grandmothers. I hope you have a wonderful week.

Warmly,

Meg French
Executive Director
Stephen Lewis Foundation
