The United States has slashed international assistance funding, including for its global HIV program PEPFAR. If unmitigated, these funding cuts will be catastrophic for the HIV response and lead to the reversal of decades of hard-fought progress.

Response to Canada’s Global Fund Pledge

On Nov. 21, 2025, Canada announced its new 3-year pledge to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. Despite significant advocacy from thousands of Canadians for global health leadership, the pledge was $900 million less than in 2022.
